Pamela Ballantine started her career in broadcasting as a secretary in ocal
radio station Downtown Radio, but was soon filling in as a newsreader and
programme presenter while still doing her day job in the office. She then
joined BBC Radio Ulster as a fulltime presenter for six months before
joining UTV's continuity announcers department.
While working for UTV she has presented a variety of programmes, including
Farming Ulster, Telethon, The Ulster Schools Quiz and Hot Pursuits.
Pamela was the main presenter and reporter for UTV Live at 5.30, UTV's successful news magazine programme which covered all aspects of life; from
movies and concerts to health and legal issues. She also works as a presenter and reporter for UTV's motorsports programme RPM.
Pamela is now a freelance presenter on UTV and U105 and an ambassador for
UTV.
She also writes a weekly social diary column for the Belfast Telegraph.
Pamela was born and bred in Northern Ireland.
She enjoys watching sport including rugby, horse racing and motorsport. She
is also an avid traveller and likes to keep as fit as possible on bicycle or
horse, walking or swimming, and doing pilates and body balance while
socialising as often as possible.
